History

East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC was established in 1961.

The East Campbelltown area was originally formed as ex-servicemen war homes, few originals still live in the area and are still involved in the club in some form of way. Waminda Oval was once a cow paddock with a few chicken sheds and now the home of the mighty Eagles.

Back in the 1960s and 70's Campbelltown City attracted the majority of kids in the local district, if they didn't make that team, East Campbelltown gave these young players an opportunity to start there local footy, which in turn keeps kids off the streets.

The club grew stronger through the 80's and with the change from Group 6 to Wests Juniors, the club had the chance to grow and be one of the predominate clubs in the Campbelltown area, Early 90's seen neighbouring club Leumeah Wolves fold, giving East the extra strength needed to go higher and with many successful 1st division teams they did. It was the introduction of A Grade, Reserve Grade and the under 18's in 1994 that enhanced the club's reputation, as a club on the move.

The year 2001 will be remembered in East for a long time, A Grade Minor Premieres, Premieres, Senior Club Champions and overall Club Champions. The club had grown and proved to be a major force in the West's Juniors throughout the millennium era. Again this year the Eagles has shown to be a dominate force in the Canterbury Competition finishing Premieres in the A Grade and Grand Finalists in the Kiama 9 aside competition. With the mighty Red and White colours, the club has formed to be one of the strongest clubs in the area with every team from under 6's all the way up to A Grade and is the only club in the area to do so, It has good junior support and a very well run senior base.

East Campbelltown now wants to spread there wings and push to form a Jim Beam Cup team that will represent the Campbelltown area, hopefully this will provide an opportunity for our local players to play at NRL level. This is a club that is proud of the past and confident of its future.
