The East Campbelltown Eagles Junior Rugby league Club is headed for a massive 2008 season; The Club had a successful 2007 season winning the Under 8’s Premiership, Grand Finalists in the Under 10’s and the A Grade travelling to the Canterbury Competition and coming home with the Barry Harris Trophy winning 18-12 against St Christopher’s.

They finished off with the Sunday Club Champions and 2008 Jim Beam Cup players, Troy Gibbs and Apolo Tiaeloia winning the West’s Juniors Best and Fairest awards in there respective Grades, other feats to be mentioned was the A Grade Grand Finalists 2007 in the Kiama 9-A-side Competition.

With an increase of 4 teams for the 2008 season, the club has every team filled from Under 6’s all the way up to A Grade. And the inclusion of an open age women’s team, will also bring excitement to the club.

The club committee has had little change from 2007; Andrew Ingram is the current President with the 2007 President Larry Smith becoming Snr Vice President, Part of the clubs recent success is due to the hard working, pro active committee, which includes Tammy Smith-Draper, Tracey Thomas, Norelle Clark, Michelle Collins, Mark Smith, Trent Collins, Dylan Doherty, Sally Fahey and Jeremy Whittle.

The Club appointed 2 coaching coordinator’s, they are Luke Matter for the juniors and Daniel Draper Head Coach for the seniors. Luke is by far one of the best coach’s involved in the club and his current knowledge and enthusiasm to the game has rubbed off onto other coach’s involved in the Club.

We have also had an increase of sponsorship for the Junior Club with Sporties Indoor Centre Minto, Sturdy Framac, Instant Hire and Mr Loo Cleaning Services, has all shown there support to join the Eagles for the 2008 season. Other Junior sponsors include Kings Painting and Decorating, BetteCrete Concrete, Andrew Ingram Building and Carpentry, Macarthur Ford, Willis Cakes, Ballards Butchery, Bob Jane T-Marts Campbelltown, Ahlam Waterproofing, Marshal Air and West’s Tennis Club.
