Bundaberg Red Cup, Penrith Brothers 36 defeated Campbelltown Eagles 34 15 June 2010

Campbelltown Eagles took on Penrith Brothers on Sunday the 13th at Waminda Oval Campbelltown, Penrith come out at a very fast pace putting on 2 tries in the opening 6 minutes of the game to race to a 12 nil lead, tries to second rower Joel Orton that went over untouched in the opening minute of the game and then winger Rodney Peake was on the back of a good backline play that seen him score out wide, both kicks where successful by fullback Chirs Morson.

The Eagles finally getting some possession and completing some sets in succession showed what they could do scoring a try to Pat Franks in the 18th minute, Levi Dodd converted, 12-6 Penrith.

Michael Stolk dropped a certain try over the line but he made sure of his second attempt scoring in the 23rd minute and Dodd converted to level up the scores, it was the Eagles hitting the lead at the 30th minute mark when Wayde Dunley weaved some magic to cross for the Eagles and Dodd converted 18-12 Eagles, The next 10 minutes of play seen the Eagles dropping the ball and some lazy defence that seen Penrith Dummy Half Dean Hawke with 4 minutes to go cross over the line to level up the scores and Chirs Morson coverting, Eagles turned off too early with 1 minute to go Penrith scored to hit the lead through Chris Morson and he converted his own try, with Penrith going into the Break with a 24-18 lead.

The Eagles scored first 5 minutes after the break exciting the crowed when Levi Dodd scored out wide and when he converted his own try the game was locked at 24 all, but the Eagles again let Penrith hit back at the 51st minute to Dean Springfield with Chris Morson's radar on target, Brothers again hit the lead at 30-24, The Eagles looked like they were going to cause an upset and started to come home strong and when the Eagles had extra numbers down the short side it seen centre Tyrone Faliuga score in the corner, the kick form Levi Dodd just sailed left of the post and the Eagles still trailed by 2, Both teams having opportunities to take the game all the way but it looked like Brothers had the game tied up when they scored with 14 minutes to go through Morson with his second and again he converted Brothers 36 Eagles 28, Damien Kennedy carried 3 defenders across the line to score under the posts with 6 minutes remaining Dodd converted and the game went down to the wire, the Eagles having a half chance at the end but brothers dug deep and finished up winners 36-34 in what was a great game of Rugby League.

Group 6 1st Grade, East Campbelltown Eagles 46 defeated Thirlmere 16 The Eagles where unstoppable with their win against Thirlmere on the weekend and have started to find some form with the return of some injured players over the past 2 months, East Campbelltown winger Craig Moustakas and lock forward Ben Janskowski both scored a hat trick of tries for the Eagles 46-16 win, Best for the Eagles were Jimmy Laulilii, Ratha Heak and Chris Standing, coach Richard Barnes was impressed with his team's effort and stated "It was a great effort but we still have a lot to improve on, having some our forwards back this week was handy"

Group 6 Reserve Grade, Thirlmere 32 defeated East Campbelltown Eagles 28 The Eagles Reserve Grade suffered their first loss of the season going down to a spirited Thirlmere side. The Eagles having plenty of opportunities but fell short of victory.

Group 6 Under 18's, East Campbelltown Eagles 62 defeated Thirlmere 12
