Bundaberg Red Cup, The Entrance Tigers 50 def Campbelltown Eagles 18 19 April 2010

The Campbelltown Eagles played The Entrance Tigers and it was to be the first home game that the Eagles played at Waminda Oval, With the new seating only weeks away from completion the Eagles played in front of one of the biggest crowds since their inclusion in the Jim Beam/Bundaberg Red Cup. The game had everything right from the start and  the fact that the winner of this game would also be leading the competition led to a high intensity game. The Eagles posted first points when winger Levi Dodd had a bit of room that seen him score in the corner, Levi missed converting his try for the Eagles to led 4-0, The Entrance levelled up 8 minutes later and when young East Campbelltown Eagles Junior Amano Tovio received an inside ball from Dunley, Tovio scored under the posts, Levi converted to go 10-4 Eagles way.

Another Eagles Junior and contacted West’s Tigers player Dayne Craig barged his way over the line for the Eagles to hit a handy led 14-4. The Tigers scored 30 seconds before the break, for the Half Time score of Campbelltown 14 – Entrance 10.

The Second half seen the Entrance picking up the pace and within a 15 minute period they had shell shocked the Eagles with 3 consecutive converted tries to race to and 28-14 led , The Entrance scored again shortly after when a questionable refereeing decision seen the Eagles supporters disappointed with the try to fall behind 34-14. The Eagles hit back when again Levi Dodd had open room out wide to score in the corner to give the Eagles a slight chance of victory.

The Tigers playing entertaining football rolled out another 3 tries in the last 15 minutes to run away winners 50-18, best for the Eagles was Samuel Hoare, Amano Tovio and Pelel Leuluai.
