An impressive weekend 22 April 2009

The East Campbelltown Eagles had a impressive weekend with all their senior teams winning, The East Campbelltown Women's A Grade played at Canley-Height on Saturday defeating the Canley Heights Dragons in a great game 26-20, On Sunday the East Campbelltown Under 18's No2 side played Warriors and defeated them 30-4 and showed awesome goal line defence to get the win, the East Campbelltown Under 18's No1 played side played Hinchinbrook and again with a impressive score line winning 46-16.

But it was the games out at Oakdale that were the tough ones for the Eagles, Reserve grade side was down at half time 18-12 when their fitness showed in the second half they scored 5 tries in the second half to race to a 40-18 victory. The A Grade game was a bottler, the Eagles scored first when half back Michael Stevens stepped through a hole to score under the post 3 minutes into the game, It was all defence from both sides for the next 20 minutes and with Oakdale pressuring the line, they were rewarded with a try to level it up 6 all, and that's what it stayed until the half time break. 5 minutes after the break Oakdale hit the lead when they scored from a last tackle option to go to a 12-6 lead, but with Oakdale receiving a few injuries and the Eagles picking up the tempo, they scored out wide to Dayne Craig to level up 12 all. The Eagles continued to attack and when Michael Stevens put Joe Ioane through a gaping hole the Eagles hit the led 18-12, with 5 minutes remaining the eagles sealed the win when lock Ravi Prakish put through a cleaver kick, regathered and then gave it to Joe Ioane to score out wide, Oakdale got the ball from a short kick and scored right before the siren for the game to finish East Campbelltown Eagles 24 Oakdale Bears 18
