Eagles and Thirlmere go Head-to-Head 25 May 2009

East Campbelltown Eagles Played Thirlmere on Sunday at Thirlmere Oval, The Eagles posted first points when a lucky bounce seen Uati Issako regather and off load to Joe Ioane to score for the Eagles. Thirlmere then hit back with 3 tries to race to a 18-4 lead.
The Eagles were unlucky when Fredrick Tevaga went over to score but the try was disallowed but it was just before the break when the Eagles scored when John Da-Silva kicked cross field to see Uati Issako score to go to a 18-10 deficit at half-time, the Eagles came out and scored early in the first half when Jacob Morgan went over the conversion was unsuccessful and the Eagles trailed 18-14, the second half was dominated by the Eagles and when Sanelle Fauula offloaded to big Joe Ioane he went over for his second try for the day and the Eagles hit the lead 20-18, with 10 minutes to go flying winger Uati Issako busted the defence and raced 60 meters before being tackle a meter out, a quick play the ball seen front rower Freddrick Tevaga go over next to the posts to race to a 8 point led with 10 to go.

Thirlmere rallied but 3 crucial errors from the Eagles gave Thirlmere the possession needed and they hit back with a try to bring the score line back 26-24 to the Eagles, Thirlmere got the match winner with 4 minutes remaining when they scored to finfish the game 30-26, leaving the Eagles disappointed, walking away with the loss. Players Player went to Winger Uati Issako.

The Reserve Grade game was one way traffic when the East Campbelltown Eagles won convincingly 52-8 with players player also going to a winger Mark Douglas.

The Eagles travel to Mittagong this Sunday Reserve Grade at 1pm and A Grade at 2.30pm.

The East Campbelltown Women's team was called off due to rain but they will play this Friday Night at Waminda Oval 7.30pm kick off.

The Campbelltown Eagles Bundaberg Red Cup team will play Mounties, this Sunday At Mounties Sports complex.
